Class 8th pass farmer builds own dam, turbine to irrigate fields
In a bid to solve the problem of water for irrigating his fields, a 8th class pass farmer has built a dam and turbine.
Madan Lal has 10 acre land and getting enough water to irrigate the fields was difficult due to water scarcity.
He got the idea of building a dam and installing a turbine during his visit to Tawa Dam.
With the constant flow of water it was difficult for Madan to install turbine in his fields.
He had to set the base for which he used sand, cement, gravels and iron. Then he built a turbine using 4 quintal iron. Then his constructed a small dam and installed the turbine in the middle.
He irrigated his field within 4 days with the power produced by the turbine. Earlier, irrigating his 10-acre land used to take 25 days.
